Buyer Specialist: Mary Lynn Mullen

Mary Lynn moved to the Washington DC area in 2010. She has lived all over the metro area.  From National Harbor, MD, Old Town Alexandria, VA, Arlington, VA and most recently as a home owner on Capitol Hill in DC, she knows the area extremely well! She fell in love with the DMV quickly. Mary Lynn started off as a television reporter after graduating from the University of Arkansas with a broadcasting degree. She says that getting to know people personally is what matters to her most. But that wasn't enough. She says she wanted to help people as well. So after a successful career in TV, Mary Lynn decided to go into pharmaceutical and surgical sales for the next decade. It is in that environment that she realized her dream was to combine these two passions for people. Mary Lynn says real estate provides her love for people and her eagerness to help them into one career.   

 

 

Contracts and Operations Manager: Mara Fedele

As the Contracts and Operations Manager for the Rob Carter Group, Mara is committed to ensuring a positive client experience. With 10 years experience in Customer Service, she has mastered the tools necessary to consistently deliver exceptional service to clients. Originally from New Jersey, Mara moved to Washington D.C. after attending George Washington University, where she graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. When she is not working, Mara is a barre fitness fanatic, loves to cook and spends as much time as possible with her friends and family. “Exemplary Service! Rob Carter will exceed all expectations. My Husband and I found Rob Carter through Yelp a little over a year prior to using him. We have bought and sold several properties and already had a real estate agent whom we loved dearly. Unfortunately, our Agent did not service DC and we had to find someone new to work with. We were nervous about using a new agent because we had very high standards. It is not easy to find someone you can trust with high dollar purchases. Rob Carter had the highest rating on Yelp, but we were naturally skeptical about this. However, in the first phone call he completely won us over. His technical knowledge about the DC market and even about troublesome tenant issues blew us away. He actually gave us advice to wait another year to sell due to the fact that the market was steadily rising. Boy was he right! Rob checked in with us every quarter to make sure we were doing okay, we had nightmare tenants and were going through an unending eviction process. Rob would periodically call and give us helpful advice on things we could do as we endured through this. When we were finally able to sell, Rob was able to show us how we could list our property as-is and still make a generous profit. He is a true technical expert at numbers and sales predictions. He wrote out various scenarios and recommended a lower list price to create a bidding war. His advice was spot on. We had 4 contracts in less than 5 days. Again, Rob gave sound advice on which contract to choose. We had a flawless closing in less than 30 days. We did not even have to pay an extra month’s mortgage because of how fast it was. He stuck with us and made us comfortable and confident in our search. Having heard stories from friends about their experiences buying homes, we feel we got very lucky with Rob. “Rob was referred to us through a co-worker from my wife's workplace. We were purchasing our first home and quite honestly had no idea how to approach it. We needed someone who was honest, professional, knowledgeable and was willing to hold our hands through the entire process. It's challenging to put in writing how much Rob exceeded our expectations in every possible way. Right from the get go, he was responsive - he returns calls and emails very quickly. If he doesn't have the information you're looking for handy, he follows up and finds answers. He's honest - he puts the client before himself. Example: In a tough period where we were really questioning our ability to afford a home, Rob challenged us and suggested maybe we needed to continue renting. At that point I knew he had no skin in the game - he put more value on our interests than he did in closing commission with us as his clients. Another example: In a tough situation where we wanted a property and had the opportunity to grab it if we were willing to bring a higher offer to the table, Rob suggested we withdraw as he felt the property wasn't worth the value. Again - no skin in the game. We could have finished up right then and there but he had our best interests in mind. He's a great negotiator and great to work with - in communications with other agents during our inquiries of properties, I noticed how they repeatedly said they would love the chance to work with him. He writes great contracts and is super detail-oriented - he always seems one step ahead of the game. I've documented that Rob is an awesome realtor, but what really makes him special is that he's a great person. I honestly have to say our lives are better for having the chance to get to know Rob and working with him to purchase our home. We closed at the end of April, and I have to admit as much as I did not like searching for homes, I'll miss the chance of getting to go house hunting with him. Thanks Rob!”
